What is CCS Australia
CCSAustralia is a not for profit organisation created to provide service delivery for child care services across Australia. In the last 10 years, there has been constant enquiries, mandates, and imposed regulatory burden for child care services, while we have seen the cost of child care rising.
CCSAustralia wants to provide a curation service for quality suppliers to the child care sector. CCSAustralia will supply confidence to the sector with providers who are holistically committed to early childhood education and care, rather than to profit from the sector. This means that all suppliers will have to demonstrate key investment within their programs or services which prove interest in the health and wellbeing of children’s services, and the sustainability of the sector. CCSAustralia is agnostic to provider applications, and has no particular affiliation with specific providers as long as they can demonstrate investment, expertise and a committed sustainability model for the sector.
CCSAustralia will provide a chart of comparison based on the standards created by CCSAustralia. The one thing that will combine all members of CCSAustralia, is the common interest in childcare service providers being able to maintain service delivery, without the government regulating all childcare services, families and workers of Australia report directly to government.
The concern about direct reporting to government is transparency. The new Jobs for Families package is yet another change, by another government. There is no guarantee this change will remain and there is no guarantee this government will remain. The Jobs for Families package has a ‘Henry the 8th’ clause which reflects the ability for the Minister of the day to change any aspect of the legislation without review. This is tenuous and concerning for the sector, considering the level of data the government is seeking to attain. The Jobs for Families package is securing data collection under the legislation, while the data it is collecting is not actually recognised as actuarial or transactional for applying the Child Care Subsidy.
CCSAustralia, will keep abreast of, and work with the government to provide child care services a smooth transition to the new Jobs for Families package, while protecting the independence of the data acquisition and privacy of ordinary Australian’s, businesses, workers and families.
All suppliers who join CCSAustralia, will do so on the agreement of those principles. Transparency, independence and accountability to the sector.
CCSAustralia will work with for profit and not for profit suppliers, and represent for profit and not for profit children’s services. It will not participate in division of the service types, but only represent the obligations of children’s services to government and assist in representing reduction of red tape.
